Her groundbreaking work in the haircare industry, marked by the founding of her eponymous company in 1905, revolutionized beauty standards for African American women. While also having to endure simultaneous forces of racism and gender discrimination, Walker's resilience ultimately earning her recognition as America's first documented self-made woman millionaire. Her enduring legacy continues to inspire generations of women, serving as a testament to the power of perseverance and empowerment. 

Muriel Siebert

Muriel Siebert made history by becoming the first woman to secure a seat on the New York Stock Exchange in 1967, earning her the title "the first woman of finance." Her journey began during her business classes at Western Reserve University, where she was inspired after visiting the Stock Exchange, to work there one day. After years of perseverance, Muriel succeeded in purchasing a seat on the exchange, paving the way for future generations of women in finance. Additionally, she broke barriers by becoming New York's first woman superintendent of banking and dedicated herself to advocating for women's rights and philanthropy.

Taylor Swift, the globally acclaimed singer-songwriter, has not only mesmerized audiences with her music but has also had a significant economic impact through her tours. For instance, her show in Glendale, Arizona, surpassed the revenue of the 2023 Super Bowl held in the same stadium. Swift's cultural influence extends beyond music, with her presence even boosting viewership for events like the Kansas City Chiefs football games. From university courses to driving economic activity across various sectors, Taylor Swift's impact remains profound and far-reaching.

As "Barbie" continues to connect with audiences worldwide, its impact on women's representation and economic influence underscores the enduring power of  the female spirit.

Despite considerable progress in gender equality, women CEOs remain very underrepresented, accounting for only 5.4 percent of all CEOs globally. Catz's tenure at Oracle, coupled with her extensive experience and leadership on the boards of international banking giant HSBC and the Walt Disney Company, is setting a powerful example for aspiring women leaders.
